the part of you that ages first
The skin on the back of your hands is thinner than your face. It has fewer oil glands. It gets more direct sun than almost any other part of your body, just notice where your hands sit when you drive, walk, hold your phone, and you wash them ten times a day.
We spend hundreds on face serums and SPF. We use hand cream once a week and forget. Which is why hands often show their age before the face does.
Solae is what we couldn't find: broad spectrum SPF 30 hand cream that absorbs in seconds, fits in any bag, and works on every skin tone.
Made for the move.

how solae started
We're best friends from college, both based in New York. She's in consulting; I'm in law. We're constantly in motion from meetings to the subway to the gym to the airport, and our hands are always out, holding things, getting touched, getting washed, getting sun.
Over breakfast one day, we realized something embarrassing. We'd both been spending hundreds on face SPF, retinol, vitamin C. But for our hands? Whatever was at Costco or stolen from our mom, on the days we remembered.
We went looking for a hand cream that did what our face products do, and it didn't exist. Hand cream and SPF lived in different aisles, made for different people. Neither was made for the way we actually live: in the city, on the move, washing our hands all day.
So we made it.
